This is the first of Patterson's popular books that I've ever read. This is the 13th in the series, but it's written in such a manner that you don't need to have read the previous books to follow it, although perhaps you would feel more invested if you had read the previous books. I don't typically read the detective mystery type books lately, but I used to read cop/lawyer mystery books a lot when I was in high school.
I don't have a lot to say about the book. It's a quick read, and it's great brainless entertainment. I got it for free, and while I didn't love it, I don't regret reading it. I would read other books in the series, and I have another Patterson book in the queue.
